Results

The information found within the Results area of the Explore, Navigate, and Warnings tabs is based on the setting of the Display. Sort by, Filter, and Search. You can use the Results area to modify your existing selection or to Show Elements within a view. This topic explains how to utilize the area within the Results part of the dialog.

Expand or Collapse Hierarchy

Click the plus [+] or minus [-] on any level in the hierarchy to show or hide the building elements lower in the hierarchy. The right-click menu has the additional options of Expand All and Contract All

Expand or Contract Hierarchy

Element Count

The element count is shown in parenthesis next to each sorted level in the hierarchy.  This count represents the total number of building elements beneath that level.

Changing Revit Selection

The checkbox next to a building element determines if it is in the Revit current selection.  Checking or unchecking the selection checkbox adds or removes the building element(s) from the Revit selection.  These elements can then be edited within the Revit Properties palette.

The selection checkbox can be in one of 3 states:

Information Pane

The Information Pane is shown at the bottom of Ideate Explorer and reflects information about the highlighted node of the tree.When the highlighted node is an element (as opposed to the Category, Level, Family, etc. then the element-specific data such as Created by and the Element Id will display as shown below. The Last Update By field only applies for worksharing-enabled project files.

In the example below the highlighted element is the Opening and the Information Pane displays details about that element. Note that the selected items include a concrete floor which is not displayed in the info pane. This allows you to review information about an element before deciding to add or subtract it from the selection set.
