The latest improvements to Ideate Explorer are added to our 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 versions. See below for a summary of the new features, or check out our YouTube What's New playlist.
The September 2024 release has a few minor fixes related to overhaul of the user interface work done as described below.
The June 2024 release of Ideate Explorer includes support for Revit 2025 and new Revit 2025 properties such as Sheet Collection (via Ideate Query). This release also includes an overhaul of the user interface to better support high resolution monitors, resulting in easier-to-read content. While we were at it, our team was able to change the element ‘tree’ state so that now, when you modify or delete an element, the expand/collapse state of the element tree is retained, and not collapsed as it was in previous versions. Both of these improvements were logged by customers, thank you!
We also have added the Information Pane to the bottom of Ideate Explorer, as shown below. This will display important data about the highlighted (blue) element. You can learn more under the Results>Information Pane help topic.
Lastly, building further upon last year’s well-received addition of Ideate Filters, in this release we’ve taken beta feedback and made three filtered selection improvement that we are sure you will enjoy. Next to the Filter drop-down you will now also see the Selection Filter tool as shown below. This tool is designed to simplify the selection process by limited the selected elements to the specified filter. This will make working in complex views much easier and safer.
Now, when hovering over the Category level of the element tree, a new right-click option of Select by Category is available. Similar to the Selection Filter tool, this option limits a windowed selection to only the elements of the category. This is a great way to get the benefit of the Selection Filter tool without needing to first build a custom Ideate Filter.
Lastly, we have removed the prevoiusly supported Revit filters from the Filter drop-down list. The goal was to limit the list of filters to only those intended for use with Ideate Explorer, providing focus for users. If you prefer to see the older filters you can turn them back on in Settings.
