Use Ideate Clone because Revit does not support copying a sheet once there are views on that sheet. Ideate Clone automates these processes so that you can reduce errors and improve the look of your Revit project deliverable.
After selecting the sheet to be copied, Ideate Clone will:
All Sheet and Title block parameters are copied during the Clone process except for the Revisions on Sheet properties, Revision Clouds and DWF markups. We would not want a newer Sheet to automatically take on the issuance settings of an older Sheet!
When Ideate Clone is used to place new unplaced Views, the new Views are placed as described below.
When the Viewport on the original Sheet is a Floor, Ceiling, Area or Structural Plan View, and the new Viewport Option is set to use one of the views designated as "similar", then the new view will be placed on the Sheet such that the X and Y model coordinates will maintain the same relationship to the title block as the original view. This will ensure that any plan-based view will be organized on the Sheets in a similar fashion.
When a non-similar plan-based View is selected within the new Viewport Option, the new Viewport will have the same X and Y relationship between the upper-left corner of the Viewport and the title block.
When the Viewport on the original Sheet is not a plan-based view then the new Viewport will have the same X and Y relationship between the upper-left corner of the Viewport and the title block.
