This help topic covers how to make the most out of the Ideate Explorer>Warnings tool through customizing a company or project-specific warnings standard.
There is a strong correlation between the number of warning per file size and Revit file performance. Ideate Explorer helps you manage this key indicator via the warnings threshold setting. In addition to this metric, deciding which warnings are important is an important item to review with your BIM Management team before proceeding. Learn more in this help topic: Which warnings are critical?
Once you’ve decided which warning types are most important, the next step is to edit the Ideate Warnings rankings file to match your project or company-specific warning management goals. To do a comprehensive review of all possible Revit warnings follow these steps:
In addition to the rankings themselves, another value that impacts how Ideate Explorer displays warnings data is the warnings threshold. This value is saved in a separate file. If you want to edit this value you should edit the default file found here: C:\ProgramData\Ideate\Ideate Explorer\en-US\Metrics. If you change this value you should ideally save it in a new version of the file that is placed in a shared location, accessible to your entire team.
After capturing the warnings rankings and optionally the warnings threshold within new files, the next step is to make the new file(s) the default standard, which is described within this help topic: Warning Standards > Set File Path Defaults.
The last step is to deploy the custom content.
