    Ideate Automation supports the current version of Revit plus the three prior. This does not mean that you cannot use earlier Revit file versions, but it does mean that the older versions are no longer tested for compatibility. For this reason, these older versions are not displayed by default in the user interface and tasks that need to open those Revit file versions will not work without the extra step of also installing the older Command Controller MSIs. The software archive includes Command Controllers for Revit 2020+

    To Install Command Controllers for Older Versions:

    1. Close Ideate Automation and Revit.
    2. From this page, download the version(s) needed: https://support.ideatesoftware.com/download-archive
    3. Unzip the MSI file and double-click to manually install the files or add the MSIs to your Ideate Installer folder. The result will be the corresponding version folder located here: C:\Program Files\Ideate\Ideate Automation\Command Controllers
    4. Launch Ideate Automation. From the Files tab you should now see the option for the older version as shown below.

    NOTE: If your older cloud Revit files do not display within Ideate Automation you may need to use Refresh to update the list.
