Ideate Automation supports intelligent file naming by leveraging any Revit parameters through Ideate ReNumber. This allows exports like PDF, DWG, NWC and IFC exports to follow consistent, standards-compliant naming conventions tailored to project requirements.
The following example demonstrates how to configure a renumbering rule based on the BS EN ISO 19650 standard for drawing numbers. A sample rule is also included and can be found at the following location, and can be loaded directly into Ideate ReNumber:
C:\ProgramData\Ideate\IdeateApps\en-US\Samples\ReNumber\Bonus Rules\Sheets - BS ISO 19650.rule
To begin, create the custom renumber rule using Ideate ReNumber:

The rule can then be built using a combination of project information and sheet-based Revit parameters.
In this example, the following custom project information parameters are used:
Along with these custom sheet-based Revit parameters:
Finally, the Sheet Number parameter is added to complete the naming structure.
The Target Parameter should be set to < None >, as the rule is used for file naming rather than writing values back into Revit. The rule will appear in italic, indicating that no Target Parameter is assigned. Note: If a Target Parameter is defined, it will be updated in the Revit model during synchronization once the task is completed.

Once the rule has been created, it can be saved and exported to a shared location for reuse across multiple projects and tasks, ensuring consistency and reducing setup time.

To use the rule in the Ideate Automation task,
