If you have many unplaced views that need to be placed onto a new sheet, you can use the Create Sheet tool within Ideate SheetManager to quickly place one or more unplaced views onto their own respective sheets. The Create Sheets option is also integrated into Ideate ViewCreator and is described in this same topic below.
To access this tool, select one or more unplaced views from the left-hand side of SheetManager, then use either the right-click menu or the Create Sheet button as shown. This is ideal for quickly placing any large plan, elevation, building section, schedule, or panel schedule view on its own sheet. For smaller views such as interior elevations, details or drafting views, use drag and drop within SheetManager instead.
To automatically create many sheets based on unplaced views, follow the steps below.
The Create Sheets option is also available within Ideate ViewCreator as is offered as an option at the end of a view creation process. In the image below the creation of two new views via the Copy Views to Level method has just completed. Select the Create Sheets button to continue. The next step is to Choose a Layout as described below.
After starting the Create Sheets option via SheetManager or ViewCreator, the next step is to select either the Clone Sheet or Title Block layout. The Clone Sheet method is recommended if you have many sheets that fit into a series, because the sheet properties and the numbering theme of the selected sheet will be duplicated. Otherwise, use the Title Block method to start from scratch.
Use the Sheet Options to further specify the new sheet conditions. For details on the “Align plan views using model coordinates” option, please refer to a similar topic under Align.
Tip: Review the in-product Getting Started Guide for Ideate SheetManager for more examples of how to make the most of this tool.
